The 40mm Airburst Dual Purpose range of ammunition is High-precision rounds designed to penetrate light armour and release anti-personnel fragments. It allows the detonation of the round to be initiated after clearing obstacles or detonation in air to reach defilade targets. With dual purpose capability, the Airburst Dual Purpose round offers greater lethality with the same round when the need arises.
Available in Low Velocity and High Velocity Extended Range versions to suit different operational requirements.

HIGH VELOCITY AIRBURSTING MUNITION SYSTEM

ST Engineering’s 40mm High-Velocity Air Bursting Munition System (HV ABMS) comprises:
• Air Bursting Munition (ABM)
• Programmable Airburst Weapon Upgrade Kit with Fire Control System (FCS) and Programming Kit (PK)
• ABM Rounds
The system is designed for use on existing 40mm automatic grenade launchers such as the STK 40GL Mk2, MK19 and CIS 40 AGL.
Air Bursting Munition
The HV ABM functions as a programmable time-fuzed round, detonated mid-air to effectively engage defilade targets. The Fire Control System includes a laser rangefinder to determine distance to target. The system processes the information and programmes the ABM through a portable Programming Kit (PK) to detonate the projectile at the desired point. A key benefit of the system is its ability to provide a significant overmatch against conventional systems, with rounds able to engage hidden or defilade targets. The system is suitable for use from a mounted vehicle or foot soldier.
